Mission

The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) plays an important, active role in land use planning. Its main mandate is to provide advice and recommendations to the municipal council on matters concerning urban planning, zoning, subdivision and construction. In particular, it studies requests for minor exemptions, modifications to urban planning bylaws, site planning and architectural integration programs (SPAIP), or any other subject submitted by Council.

The PAC’s recommendations and opinions enable the Municipal Council to benefit from the contribution of elected officials and citizens, who can put forward their experience of living in the Town and their particular concerns for the development of their territory.

The PAC sits in camera every month and is made up of seven (7) permanent members: Two (2) municipal councillors and five (5) appointed residents, whose term of office is two (2) years.

Important Information for PAC Permit Applications

  • Complete Application Required: Incomplete applications will not be accepted. All required documents must be submitted, and payment for the permit or certificate, as well as any other applicable fees, must be received at the time of the application, before the deadline.
  • Submission Deadline: Any application received after the deadline will not be added to the agenda of the corresponding meeting.
  • Permit Issuance Timeline: The permit will be issued after a certain period following the submission of the final construction plans and approval by the municipal council.
  • Permit Issued: After the council meeting and the submission of the final construction plans, a certain delay should be expected before the permit is issued.
