Snow Removal Contractors

Snow Removal Contractors

Is your contractor compliant?

As of December 2025, snow removal contractors must comply with By-law No. 508 to carry out snow removal work within the Village of Senneville.

Objectives

Essential to safety and mobility throughout our territory, snow removal activities can have direct impacts on several aspects of daily winter life, including road safety, property access, proper snow management, and the comfort of residents. This by-law aims to regulate snow removal activities on public roadways, private driveways and parking areas. The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out under the best possible conditions while taking into account the needs of the Senneville community.

The contractor must also comply with the applicable laws and regulations. In particular, but without limitation, he must comply with all provisions of the Highway Safety Code, RLRQ. C-24.2, and its regulations, as well as By-law No. 343 concerning parking, traffic and road safety as well as By-law No. 482 pertaining to nuisances, public health and security.

New Requirement

Any contractor wishing to perform snow removal work in Senneville must now obtain a municipal permit. This permit, costing $50 per motorized vehicle used, is mandatory for any snow removal activity carried out within the municipality. Anyone who violates this by-law is subject to a fine ranging from $300 to $4,000. Property owners who hire a snow removal contractor are responsible for ensuring that the contractor holds a valid permit issued by the municipality.

Permit

The permit is valid from November 1 of the current year to October 31 of the following year. To apply, simply provide the required documents through the online form.
