The Village of Senneville, in collaboration with the Department of Recreation, Culture, and Community Life, collected and analyzed the results of the public consultation on recreation services, held from September 3 to October 17, 2025.
We warmly thank all citizens for their participation. More than 103 people contributed to this process by sharing their vision for the future development of our recreational activities. Here are five key insights that emerge from the profile of the Senneville community in terms of recreation:
- The results first show a high overall level of satisfaction with recreation services, with an average rating of 3.94 out of 5. This confirms that the services offered are effectively meeting the current needs of the population.
- The consultation also revealed that the majority of respondents are aged 55 and over. This highlights the importance of continuing to adapt our service offerings to adequately meet the expectations of this group while ensuring inclusive programming for all age groups.
- Another notable finding is the strong interest expressed in community involvement and volunteerism. Citizens have demonstrated a clear willingness to actively engage in their community, particularly with seniors. This interest represents an important opportunity to strengthen the social fabric of the community.
- Regarding communications, the results show that citizens use a variety of information sources. While digital tools remain essential, word-of-mouth continues to play a significant role. This underscores the importance of maintaining a diverse communication strategy to effectively reach all segments of the population.
- The consultation also identified concrete areas for improvement. These include enhancing the tennis program and introducing a pickleball program in response to growing demand. Other suggestions include improving the day camp, enriching recreational programming—particularly fitness classes—and developing social and educational workshops.
In summary, this consultation confirms that recreational activities are well appreciated while highlighting opportunities for growth. The Village reaffirms its commitment to continuing the development of community life with services that are adapted, accessible, and aligned with the needs expressed by its population.
