Parc du Souvenir to Discover This Weekend!

We are thrilled to announce the official reopening of Parc du Souvenir, newly revitalized and just in time to enjoy the beautiful season! Starting Friday afternoon, June 20, the community is invited to explore this brand-new green space, the result of Phase 2 of the park development project, which wraps up successfully this week.

Designed to bring people together, enhance connectivity, and protect the environment, the park now offers a range of features created to meet everyone’s needs while respecting the local ecosystem. Highlights include:

  • Adirondack chairs to relax comfortably in nature
  • A walking dock (please note that swimming is not permitted)
  • A bike rack to make trail access easier
  • Landscaping that blends seamlessly with the natural shoreline
  • Ample green space and a welcoming walking trail
  • A universal drinking fountain, accessible to all — including your furry friends!

This project reflects a long-term vision focused on balancing accessibility, heritage appreciation, and environmental protection. The key goals of this new development are:

  • Connectivity: Integrate the park with the existing trail network and surrounding public spaces.
  • Diverse Uses: Create a variety of spaces and support both visual and physical access to the lake.
  • Heritage: Highlight the historical character of the site.
  • Biodiversity: Diversify plant coverage and promote sustainable landscaping.
  • Environmental Restoration: Rehabilitate the shoreline for the benefit of local wildlife and plant life.

We invite you to come enjoy this beautiful new space, just steps away from home. Whether you’re out for a walk, relaxing by the lake, or simply taking in the scenery, this park is a valuable addition to our shared community life.

Everyone is welcome!

*Please be mindful of the landscaping! The grass and plantings are still very new.
