The Village of Senneville would like to inform residents that poison ivy has been identified in certain areas of the municipality, particularly along Senneville Road and within the Senneville Forest.
Although poison ivy is common in many natural environments across Quebec, it can cause skin reactions when it comes into contact with the skin. Symptoms may include redness, itching, swelling, and blistering.
How to Recognize Poison Ivy

Common characteristics include:
• Leaves grouped in clusters of three leaflets
• Leaflets with varying shapes, sometimes smooth-edged and sometimes toothed
• Colors that change throughout the seasons
• Can grow along the ground, as a shrub, or climb trees
• Its sap can cause redness, itching, and skin irritation
Prevention Tips
When walking, hiking, or enjoying outdoor activities:
• Avoid touching plants you do not recognize
• Stay on marked trails whenever possible
• Wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes in wooded areas
• Keep an eye on children and keep pets close to reduce their exposure

• Wash the affected area as soon as possible with soap and water
• Clean any clothing, footwear, tools, or equipment that may have been exposed
