2025 Municipal Election

General municipal elections are held every four years on a fixed date: the first Sunday of November. The next general election will take place on November 2, 2025, in all municipalities and cities across Quebec. Individuals registered on the electoral list in Senneville will be required to elect a mayor and six municipal councillors, one for each district in the municipality. Filing a Candidacy

If you’d like to run in the 2025 municipal elections, you must complete a Declaration of Candidacy form and submit it to the Office of the Returning Officer.

You are responsible for confirming your eligibility by consulting Articles 61–67 and 300–307 of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities.

Take an appointment with the Office of the Returning Officer using the contact information at the bottom of the page to submit your nomination paper. Submissions will be accepted starting September 19 and no later than October 3, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

Who Can Vote

To vote in the municipal elections, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be registered on the electoral list;
  • Be 18 years of age or older on election day;
  • Be a Canadian citizen;
  • Reside in the municipality;
  • Have lived in Quebec for at least six months;
  • Not have lost your electoral rights.

If you do not live in the municipality but own or co-own a property or occupy a place of business there, you may still be eligible to vote. Contact the Returning Officer to verify your eligibility.

To check your registration on the electoral list and make corrections if needed, click here. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are properly registered.

At the beginning of October, you will receive by mail a notice of registration on the electoral list, indicating the names of the individuals registered at your address.

If your name does not appear on this list, you will need to go to the Revision Commission to register.

To vote, you must present one of the following pieces of identification:

  • Québec Health Insurance Card
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Canadian Passport
  • Certificate of Indian Status
  • Canadian Forces ID Card
