Make Your Home Look Lived In<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A residence that appears occupied discourages intruders. Leave some lights on, keep entrances clear of snow, and avoid leaving items outside that could signal a prolonged absence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Store Your Equipment and Limit Opportunities<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ladders, tools, and outdoor equipment\u2014anything that could help someone access your property\u2014should be stored indoors. A small precaution that can make a big difference.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Automate Your Lighting<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Timers for interior and exterior lighting help create the illusion of presence, even when you\u2019re away.
