New regulation concerning heating equipment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that as of December 31, 2021, the installation of an oil furnace in a new construction became prohibited? More changes will go into effect as of December 31, 2023: the installation of an oil furnace and the replacement of an oil furnace with a fossil fuel furnace in existing buildings will be prohibited. As of this date, repairs to furnaces over 20 years old and water heaters over 10 years old will also be prohibited. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Homeowners who need to convert their heating equipment to electricity or another renewable energy source may be eligible for financial assistance under the Go Green program. For more information, please consult the Government of Quebec website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dandelions and Weeds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dandelions: To minimize the spread of dandelions, you need to cut the flowers before they produce seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weeds: To reduce the growth of any weed, you need to keep the lawn higher, especially in times of drought.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Gardeners tips to get rid of dandelions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\n

If you do not want or cannot use weed killer, and if you are not compelled to uproot every dandelion, you can try one of these well known trick gardeners use to weaken and progressively eliminate dandelions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip # 1 : Cut the clump of dandelions flush to the ground and then sprinkle on some coarse salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip # 2: Spray each foot of dandelions with boiling water, or better yet with the cooking water from pasta or potatoes. (as hot as possible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip # 3 : Spray white vinegar in the heart of each dandelion clump.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mosquitoes and stagnant water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
