Any dog guardian or other person causing such a nuisance or whose dog behaves in a manner that creates a nuisance is in violation of this by-law:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Failure to comply with any provision of this by-law, particularly those set out in Section 1 of this Chapter;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A dog injuring a person or domestic animal or exhibiting threatening behaviour;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A dog barking or howling in a way that disturbs the peace or becomes a nuisance to the neighbourhood;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizing, participating in, encouraging, or attending animal fights;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spreading poison or placing any type of trap on one\u2019s property or elsewhere to capture, restrain, or kill a dog;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allowing a dog to defecate or urinate on someone else\u2019s property without the prior consent of the owner or occupant;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failing to promptly and adequately remove the dog\u2019s feces, including on one\u2019s own property;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failing to repair, within a reasonable time, damage caused by one\u2019s dog;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allowing a dog to drink from or bathe in a public fountain or water fountain;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tethering a dog to a stationary object in a public space;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leaving a dog alone without a guardian or failing to provide appropriate care for more than twenty-four (24) consecutive hours;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allowing a dog to roam freely in a public space or on private property, except in areas specifically authorized by the Municipality.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>However, it is not considered a nuisance to allow a dog to roam freely on its own property or on private property not accessible to the public where its presence has been expressly authorized;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allowing a dog to disturb garbage or household waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.senneville.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/R.-506_Chiens.pdf\">By-Law concerning dogs<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Quebec Government has adopted a Regulation respecting the application of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/document\/cs\/P-38.002\">Act to promote the protection of persons by establishing a framework with regards to dogs&nbsp;<\/a>on December 4, 2019, and the latter was into force on March 3, 2020. This regulation will be applicable everywhere in Quebec and every local municipality is responsible for applying, in its territory, any regulation made under this Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Animal Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"act-collapsible\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading act-collapsible__heading\">Animal service provider<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"act-collapsible__content\"><div class=\"act-collapsible__content-inner\">\n<p><strong>Centre Canin du Suro\u00eet\/Contr\u00f4le animal Vaudreuil-Soulanges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Centre Canin du Suro\u00eet\/Contr\u00f4le animal Vaudreuil-Soulanges<\/em>&nbsp;provides the Town\u2019s Animal Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lost animals are now sheltered at the Centre Canin du Suro\u00eet\/Contr\u00f4le animal Vaudreuil-Soulanges location. Owners will be asked to pay pound costs directly when claiming their animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of obtaining licences for your dog at Town Hall. These are compulsory for dogs and will help reunite you with your pet.
