Historical Buildings Inventory in Senneville<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Since the summer of 2024, an inventory of historical buildings constructed before 1940 in Senneville has been completed as part of a major project led by the City of Montreal, in collaboration with the linked cities of the agglomeration. This initiative aims to better understand, protect, and showcase the region\u2019s built heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with the Cultural Heritage Act<\/em>, amended in 2021, regional county municipalities and urban agglomerations are now required to adopt and periodically update an inventory of buildings constructed before 1940 that have heritage value. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the Island of Montreal, this mandate was assigned to the City of Montreal, which is gradually carrying out the inventory between 2023 and 2026. In Senneville, the operation was conducted during the summer of 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the Inventory Was Conducted<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inventory was carried out by a professional team whose mission was to document buildings of heritage interest through exterior photography and on-site observations. No interior visits were conducted, and access to private properties was limited and supervised, in accordance with privacy standards and municipal regulations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
